Understanding How Dental Insurance Works
Dental insurance is more geared towards prevention than traditional health insurance. While most dental plans will partially cover treatments for oral health issues that have already occurred, preventive checkups and cleanings tend to receive the most coverage. The idea is to encourage patients to keep up with their six-month appointments so that they don’t end up needing to pay for the more advanced treatments. As a result, both you and your insurance carrier will save money on your care.
What Your Dental Insurance Plan Covers
Most insurance plans are structured to give 100% coverage to preventive care, 80% coverage for cavity fillings and other basic treatments, and 50% coverage for more invasive procedures. Some plans may also offer coverage for braces and other orthodontic treatments; however, you should call your carrier directly to confirm what benefits you have before beginning your treatment. We can go over your plan with you if you are unsure whether a certain procedure is covered.
Our In-Network PPO Dental Insurance Providers
Being an in-network dental practice simply means that we’ve reached an agreement with several insurance companies to offer our services at specific rates. The savings are then passed on to our patients, allowing them to get the most out of their chosen dental plans. We still accept out-of-network plans, and our team always takes care of the process of filing claims. Below is a list of some of the insurance companies that we are in-network with.
